Osteopaths in Peterborough

Peterborough, a city in the East of England, is located about 75 miles north of London and about 30 miles west of the coast.  The city is located on the River Nene and has historic roots that date back to the Bronze Age.  Remains of this Bronze Age settlement can be seen at the Flag Fen archaeological site, just east of the city centre.  The area remained populated through Roman times, and in the Saxon period an abbey was established, which later became the beautiful Peterborough Cathedral. Today, Peterborough is a booming economic centre, with very low levels of unemployment and one of the highest economic growth rates in England. 

Peterborough puts a strong emphasis on the environment, and in 1994 it was designated one of four environment cities in the UK.  This dedication to the environment led to the creation of the Peterborough Millennium Green Wheel in 2003.  The Green Wheel is an 80km system of bicycle paths, footpaths, and bridleways.  The name derives from the fact that the system circles the city, with spokes leading to and from the city centre.  The project also created a sculpture trail with functional landscape art along the Green Wheel route.
